Training of B&H teachers held in Sarajevo

The teacher training “Student Company – Entrepreneurship in Secondary Schools” was organized on 20-21 May 2025 in Sarajevo by MUNJA Inkubator as part of the European project VETpreneur.

The main objectives of the training were:
● to develop additional knowledge in the field of entrepreneurship in education
● to experience the simulation of creating a student company
● to exchange experiences with colleagues from different schools
● to prepare for active involvement in work with students through innovative teaching methods

The training was held over two days and gathered motivated teachers and pedagogues from various secondary vocational and technical schools across Bosnia and Herzegovina. It combined lectures, inspirational talks, interactive workshops, and group work aimed at strengthening the participants’ entrepreneurial knowledge and skills, as well as showing them how to apply the concept of student companies within their own schools.
Day 1 took place at the Center for Entrepreneurship Development (Faculty of Mechanical Engineering). The event started with welcoming remarks by representatives of MUNJA Inkubator and the Center, who introduced the goals of the VETpreneur project and its relevance for improving entrepreneurial education in the region.

Following the opening, Ksenija Milić delivered a lecture on the role of entrepreneurial education and its importance for the personal and professional development of students. She emphasized how teaching entrepreneurship in schools can enhance creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, while also better preparing young people for the labour market.

After that, participants had the opportunity to hear inspiring entrepreneurial stories from guest speakers Marija Urošević and Milan Nikolić, who shared their personal journeys, challenges, and lessons learned as entrepreneurs. Their stories aimed to motivate teachers to encourage creativity and risk-taking among their students.

The afternoon part of the day was dedicated to group work and practical exercises. Through several interactive workshops, participants explored the process of developing a business idea, creating a business plan, and preparing marketing and sales strategies. Each group had to come up with a product or service concept, define its target audience, plan its finances, and design a pitch for potential customers. Trainers guided them throughout this process, offering feedback and answering questions.
The first day ended with a joint dinner in the city, which provided a more informal opportunity for participants to network, exchange experiences, and discuss possibilities for future cooperation between their schools.
Day 2 was held at Homework Hub (Children’s House Grbavica) and focused on finalizing and presenting the group projects. During the morning session, each team prepared their presentations and designed exhibition stands for the mini fair. The fair allowed all groups to showcase their student company ideas, present their products or services, and receive feedback from trainers and fellow participants. This part of the training created an engaging and competitive atmosphere and encouraged participants to demonstrate creativity, teamwork, and communication skills.

After the fair, the trainers organized an evaluation and feedback session, during which they highlighted the strengths of each project and gave suggestions for improvement. A short Q&A session followed, allowing participants to raise questions related to the implementation of the student company model in their own schools.

The event concluded with the announcement of the best teacher-led student company and a closing lunch for all participants. The trainers emphasized that the main purpose of the training was not only to teach new methods, but also to build a community of teachers who will support and inspire each other in developing entrepreneurial education within their schools.
