Western Balkans Institute held a two- day Training for trainers on integration of EntreComp framework in VET through the methods of non-formal education for 17 participants in Podgorica, Montenegro at University of Donja Gorica.
The purpose of the training was to introduce teachers and educators in Montenegro to the EntreComp Practicum and enable them to train their colleagues on how to use the Practicum and mechanism.
Participants in the training were secondary school teachers and principals, university professors, as well as representatives of the Center for Vocational Education and the Bureau for Education Services in Montenegro.
The introductory training session began with the question of how the participants perceive their profession, as teaching or training? After the discussion, a conversation opened about non-formal education methods and their application in formal education.
The EntreComp framework was then presented to the participants and the question “what a teacher or lecturer should know about EntreComp” was raised. The conclusion is that the most important thing is for the teacher to have a good knowledge of entrepreneurial competencies and their descriptors, in order to recognize them in students and be able to integrate the competencies into the teaching process.
The participants played an interesting game with flips and toothpicks that strengthens teamwork in order to learn in a practical way how to integrate entrepreneurial skills into teaching. This game was one example from Practicum.
The Practicum and VALI-COMP instruments were presented to the participants, as well as the initiative to create the regional Western Balkans Community of Practice in VET and its mission and vision.
In the end, 15 videos on entrepreneurial competencies were recorded to be used for EntreComp tutorials.
The training in Montenegro is the first of three planned trainings. The next two will be held for teachers in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Albania.
